Days 12-Today: Cabinets, Granite, Plumer

Thursday of last week the cabinet guys came in and installed the bottom and some of the top cabinets. They will be back today or tomorrow to install the rest of the upper cabinets, and to install the backordered oven cabinet.

The Granite Guy came in on Friday to measure and make a template for the Granite. On Wednesday the Granite Guy came to install the granite and it looks KOOL!

The Plumer came last night to prepare the pipes under the sink.and today he is coming back to fix the bathroom sink and install the Kitchen Sink.

When we first started this project, I was very happy with our contractor.  But in the last few days he has not shown up to fix the problem with one area of the ceiling. We have called him and left several messages, so far, no show.

Days 7-11: Contractor/Lee's/Electrician - Flooring is expencive

Saturday Morning the contractor came to texture the ceiling and to fix the hole in floor. Well he showed up and textured the ceiling, and forgot to fix the floor.

We call Kami and the girls to come help us paint on Sunday, well we forgot/lost a few things. we made 3 trips to Ace Hardware. 1 for roller pads, 2 for a second roller and extension, 3 for paint for the ceiling. Dad was ticked!

Monday Lee's came in to flatten the floor. The additional charge is $3.50 pr sq ft!!!!!!!!!!!! We dont know if the price is in additional to the cost for the installation of $2.25 or if the total is $3.50? We dont know.

Tuesday Lee's came in to finish the floors and install the tiles.

Today nothing is happening, unless mom called the electrician to fix the Oven outlet

Days 4-6: Electrition/Contractor/PMT - Holy Hot!!

Wednesday the contractor came in to begin patching the walls.

The Electrician came on Tuesday to fix the problems that he created on Monday.

Thursday the contractor came in to do the second coat of mud on the walls and it was so cold in the house that the mud was not drying. so we had to jimmy rig the heater to kick on.  Mom and I went to Twin about 3:30 yesterday and when we came home the temp inside the house was 85!! The contractor came in a few hours earlier and said the temp was over 100!

Today PMT is coming to fix the wires for the phones so we can have a phone downstairs. The contractor is coming to do another coat of mud and the re-texture the ceiling.

Mom found a great contractor! He is allways late, but does a great job.

Our electricians are a joke. the made several mistakes and still have not hooked up the heater with a new thermostat. Also PMT came in this morning to hook up a wire and found that the electricians cut a phone wire to the bedrooms so we are paying PMT to repair any crappy work that the electricians did to the phones.

Day 3 - Electrician Day 2 and Contractor Day 2

Ok, Yesterday the electrician came and they made several mistakes:

1. The new outlet for the microwave was put about 7-8 inches away from where it was supposed to be. (contractor fixed)
2. Forgot to move the outlet for the range. 
3. Made a big mess of both sides of the wall by the stairs
4. Added an extra socket or outlet, not sure which. wasn't suppose to be there in the first place
5. General unbrainy electricians

Mom Says -
All and all they did a good job considering that they were here at 8:45 lunch from 11 to 12:30ish and left at 3:30 not bad for 5 hours and 15 minutes.

 The contractor is here to put drywall where the sofit was and to patch a few holes. 

Tomorrow the electricians will be here around 8am (9am Electrician time) to fix the rest of the items and to add an air vent to the basement, filp a switch to the other side of a wall, and to install the new thermostat, and move the Oven Outlet.
